The breeding season and breeding year has started, and the breeders and owners are anxiously awaiting their foals. The time of natural breeding and carrying the babies out seems to be over, while some are still going in an "old fashioned" but natural way - that the foals get carried, born and raised from their true mothers in blood.
So did the mare of our April 'Monthly', ROSEMARY FHP, a very lovely, typey mare, who gave birth a very promising 2011 colt by the world famous MARWAN AL SHAQAB.
The 2004 born is bred in Brazil, she was sold to the Emirates, where she was discovered and purchased by the Qatari Mohamed Mobarek Abdullah Al Sulaiti who has a private stud farm in the north of Qatar's capital Doha.
ROSEMARY is a daughter by the Brazilian sire DON EL CHALL, a grand son of the influential 'Russian' ASWAN, a straight Egyptian stallion and son of the stallion of the century, NAZEER. ASWAN came about 40 years ago as a gift from Egypt to Russia and left there the most remarkable imprint in his progeny. ASWAN is a NAZEER son and had influenced the Russian and Tersk purebred Arab horse breeding enormously.
The dam of ROSEMARY is Lettice FHP who is a maternal grand daughter of BEY SHAH. The very type ROSEMARY is not the biggest horse, but a true beauty of feminine charisma, and a good protective mother for her foals. In 2011, she foaled a cute colt by triple World Champion and leading sire, the uncomparable MARWAN AL SHAQAB, and this little boy shows a real great self-confidence, with a nice upright, elegant long neck, and self-confident, light movement. He really makes his breeder and owner proud and hold great hopes for him as a promising stallion to show off and to represent his stud farm in the future.
