MAGORA was born in 2003 in Sweden, bred by Vicke Sörensen of Blommeröd Stud. She is the oldest of three full sibblings by GAZAL AL SHAQB and out of the Polish bred mare MARGOTKA.
As a weanling, MAGORA was discovered by Vicke Sörensen's longtime friends, Rolf and Helen Thorqvist, who manage the Al Shgair Farm in Saudi Arabia owned by Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Abdulrahman Ben Malik Al Sheikh, and purchased the filly for him. When she was a yearling, they took her to the first International Show in Dubai, where she gave a wonderful impression and gave a big trot, resulting in winning her Yearling Fillies' class presented in the experienced hands of Al Shgair Stud's Polish trainer Woijtek Kowalik. Being very happy and proud about this filly and her potential and future in the shows making the stud farm's name and bulilding it's reputation, it happened then after as happens quite often in a country like Saudi Arabia: being one of the best, MAGORA was gifted to HRH Prince Khaled bin Sultan Al Saud, owner of Al Khalediah Stables, showing special honour to him and to offer some special respect to him. So MAGORA
had a new home and a new owner some months after her first coming out in Dubai!
Resembling very much her sire, GAZAL AL SHAQAB, she also reflects very much her ancestors on dam's side being all Polish, and with some famous stallions and names in the 3rd, 4th and 5th generation like Partner, Algomej, Celebes, Negatiw. Added by the influence of her paternal grand dam, KAJORA, also of Polish lines, MAGORA reflects a very nice and elegant Kuhaylan type, with substance, type, balance and powerful movements. She has two younger full sisters, the 2005 born MARYLLA, also sold to the Shgair Stud Farm of Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Abdulrahman Al Sheikh, Saudi Arabia, and shown successfully in Dubai and Sharjah in 2007, and the 2006 born MARANTA. So it appears that this cross of GAZAL AL SHAQAB to MARGOTKA is working very well and a key cross.
Since the end of 2005, MAGORA was shown by Al Khalediah Stables and HRH Prince Khaled bin Sultan Al Saud. Her show record is amazing. Whenever she entered a show, she resulted in a success. Her list of records includes championship titles at the international shows in Egypt, Dubai, Sharjah, Wels, Menton, Borgloon, Towerlands, Blommeröd, Aachen and Paris. Up to 2006, still competing in the junior classes, MAGORA crossed the line to the mares' classes in 2007. But nevertheless, the success continued. In April, she was "Top Five" Mare at the prestigeous Dubai International Arabian Horse Championships, an ECAHO A-rated show, chosen by the judges as one of the five best mares of the show. Ten days later, she ended up with her first championship title as "senior", taking the ribbons as Reserve Champion Mare of the International ECAHO A-rated show in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. MAGORA's track record will continue in Europe, where she will be based for another show season competing at the international major shows there and representing Al Khalediah Stables and Saudi Arabia.
