DAKHARO was born in the United States and came to Saudi Arabia as a 4-year-old. Michael Byatt sold him to HRH Prince Khaled bin Sultan Al Saud after he had been successfully shown him Scottsdale. DAKHARO is definetely one of the 'flag ships' of Al Khalediah Stables. Since being shown in the Near and Middle East and in Europe, he has become collecting champion title after champion title - in Jordan, Egypt, Europe and the United States. It seems to be that there are no limits for DAKHARO, and he is able to compete and win all over the world!
The 1999 born bay impresses all by his phenotype as well as by an excellent genotype. His masculine overall appearance, his face, his well shaped and well carried neck, his pose like a statue monument, all these moments DAKHARO presents each time again when presented. Twice, he was shown at the World Championships in Paris, and twice he became World Champion Stallion reserve, in 2005 and in 2006. He was many time International Champion Stallion in 2005 and 2006, his records includes a long list of wins in ECAHO A-rated shows and the so-named 'Title shows' (= the All Nations Cup in Aachen, The European Championships, the World Championships, and the Middle East Championships in Jordan). He has won in all except the European Championships as he was not born in Europe and this is what the rules state in order to be able to compete there. However, the individual quality and the continiously achieved success of DAKHARO speaks for themselves - and speaks for him as show horse!
But for a stallion, it is also important to prove himself as a sire. Being very busy with the shows in the last two years, mostly based outside in Europe for many many months to compete in Europe, DAKHARO had only been bred to a very few mares at home in Saudi Arabia, while he was not available for other mares except those of Al Khalediah. In 2007, a yearling filly came out to the public that made a unique step and huge reputation for him also as sire: the very lovely and most exquisite DAKHARO daughter LAYAN AL KHALEDIAH, a true resemblance of her sire, very much stamped by him, and added by the stretchy and elegant qualities of her dam Padrons Amour. This beautiful filly is one of the best ever bred at Al Khalediah Stables to date. She not only win championship titles in both of her two first shows ever, in Dubai and Sharjah, but also impressed everybody seeing her, audience, judges, competitors, and experts. All had the same judgement: this filly and daughter of DAKHARO is something very special!
At the same time when LAYAN AL KHALEDIAH won at the Dubai and Sharjah 2007 shows in April, her sire was already in the U.S. to take the challenge at the first Las Vegas World Arabian Horse Breeders Cup. Following his daughters steps in success, DAKHARO won in the U.S. one week later, too, and became the first Las Vegas Champion Stallion 2007! Father and daughter, both champions in the same month but in different continents - what a great success! Both are now in the spotlights and attention - at the same period of time and season, so we are looking forward to see how it will continue!
