KWESTURA was the spectacular Lot A offer in the 2008 "Pride of Poland" Sale! When the 2008 auction lots became published, everybody was greatly suprised to see KWESTURA being offered, as just a few months before, she had won the superlative title as World Champion Mare 2007 in Paris! However the story of spectacular moments continued during the auction, when this outstanding mare wassold for a historical record price of 1.125.000 EUR (about 1.65 Million US-Dollars in those days)! A price that has never been reached before for any individual horse in the Polish auctions.
KWESTURA indeed is an outstanding mare, and she was from the beginning.
Her first public appearance was as a yearling in the Polish National Show 1996, being one of the curiously awaited Monogramm get in Poland, and KWESTURAimmediately achieved success. She became the Polish National Champion Filly, impressing all by her incredible refinement, her fine chiselled head, her long, elegant, and very refined shaped neck, and great movements. All in all, she could and can be described as a greatly balanced Saqlawi typed horse in the tradition of her famous Michalow breeding background.
The following year, KWESTURA came back to the Polish Nationals and achieved the reserve title, before she went to the racetrack as did all the three-year-old fillies at that time in Poland. This was to improve her ability in strength and performance, and she did really well, finishing eight starts in total, once as winner, once as second, and four times as third in the consistantly strong Polish races.
After moving from the junior classes to the mares groups in 1999, more show success followed - year after year. Among other totles, KWESTURA achieved immediately the superb title of All Nations Cup Champion Mare, followed later ony to be named European Champion Mare 2000, and finally in 2007, World Champion Mare. For details of her major records please refer to the list below.
Between 2002 and 2005, KWESTURA moved to the United States on lease to Nichols Arabians. She competed in the U.S. show ring, and became a Champion Mare in Ohio and later on, U.S. National Champion Mare in 2002. During this time in the U.S., KWESTURA had five foals by embryo transfer.
Before the mare had left Michalow Stud to the United States, she had produced three foals: a colt by Laheeb, a filly by Eldon, and a colt by Monar that was later gelded. After her return to Poland, KWESTURA gave birth to three more colts, amongst, the 2006 born KABSZTAD who is by Janow Podlaski's 2007 Polish National Champion POGANIN. One year after his sire, KABSZTAD won the ribbons as Polish National Champion Colt, this in the same year, when his dam KWESTURA was sold in the auction for her spectacular historical 1.125 Million Euros.
KWESTURA is in foal and due an early 2009 foal by the most talked about famous young sire QR MARC (by Marwan Al Shaqab). Her happy and proud new owner is HH Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and owner of the famous Ajman Stud, in the United Arab Emirates. Despite obtaining a great show mare, he has decided to allow the mare a rest from the showring until her foal is born in February 2009. She may then return to the international show ring for her new owner and under the colours of the United Arab Emirates and Ajman.
Those who have had the opportunity to see this exquisite chestnut mare FLYING around in the sand paddock of Michalow Stud's place, full of energy with high knees action and full power from behind, yet very elegant and lightly anyway - will never forget this moment seeing her in her free spirits. |
